Maschine hardware and software updated
An updated version of DEVONsphere Express featuring indexing support for network servers has been released. The update is also Gatekeeper compliant and makes it possible to copy text directly from Quick Look panels. Other changes include improved results from web sites, better compatibility with HTML and XML encodings, a Retina optimized icon, and minor bug fixes. DEVONsphere Express requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later and can be purchased in the Mac App Store for $10.
Native Instruments has launched updates for both the hardware and software included in its Maschine line of products. Priced at $669, the new Maschine hardware is available in both black or white and includes backlit multi-colored pads with improved sensitivity. A redesigned display provides a wider viewing angle and the previously separate controls for volume, tempo, and wing have been replaced with one master push-encoder. Meanwhile, the Machine 1.8 software update introduces the new color-coding system to the software, allowing suers to assign specific color schemes to sounds, groups, and patterns.
