Ruggedized ShockDrop case unveiled by Hard Candy

Hard Candy has thrown its hat into the ring with its addition to the growing iPhone 5 case lineup -- the ShockDrop. The ShockDrop has 10mm of corner protection, which thins out to 3.5 mm at the sides. Molded volume up and down indicators illustrate where the buttons for An included semi-rigid film screen protector protects the screen, and rip-proof port covers protect the openings in the case. The Hard Candy case retiles for $40 and is available online only.

SwitchEasy Nude case dresses up the iPhone 5

SwitchEasy Limited has announced the availability of Nude for iPhone 5 -- ultra thin protection with tactile buttons, specific to the new iPhone. The 1mm thin case is made of polycarbonate, and contains two front screen guards, the back protector, one microfiber wiper, and two connector protectors. Twelve colors are available -- UltraBlack, UltraClear, White, Red, Fuchsia, Viola, Lime, Turquoise, BabyPink, BabyBlue, Lilac, and Mint. THe SwitchEasy Nude is available for $20 at retail and online.

Hitcase transforms an iPhone into an extreme sports camera

Hitcase Corp has developed waterproof cases that transform the iPhone 4 and 5 into a point of view camera for action sports -- the Hitcase and Hitcase Pro. Both feature a design protecting the phone from the elements and shields it from shock while still allowing use of the touch screen, buttons, and headphone jack. A mount system allows the case to be securely fastened to nearly anything. When the port plug is installed, the case is waterproof to 33 feet. The Hitcase Pro features a wide-angle glass optic that doubles the field of view of the phone's camera.

The Hitcase and Hitcase Pro are available before the end of October for the iPhone 4 and 4S for $90 and $130 respectively. The iPhone 5 versions are expected to be the same price, and be available for purchase by mid-December.
