D-Link SharePort Go portable hotspot hits retail

Battery-powered access point remotely configurable

D-Link is adding another Wi-Fi sharing product to its mobility range. The SharePort Go portable hotspot uses Wi-Fi to quickly turn any Internet connection into a hotspot, It can allow any USB drives connected to also be accessed, effectively turning flash drives into temporary network-attached storage.

Powered by battery or the mains, the dual-antenna device can broadcast at 802.11g and n, at a speed of up to 300Mbps. One-touch Wi-Fi Protected Setup can be performed with a dedicated button, while a free app for iOS and Android allows for quick configuration of the SharePort Go remotely. It can also act as a back-up battery for mobile devices, using its USB port. An Ethernet port allows for connecting the SharePort Go to an existing wired network.

The SharePort Go is on sale for $100.
