Fitbit refreshes fitness tracker lineup with the One and Zip

Fitbit has rolled out the successor to the Fitbit Ultra, the Fitbit One. The Fitbit One adds a new 'silent' vibrating alarm to helps a user to get up for the morning routine without necessarily waking up their partner too. The device now uses Bluetooth 4.0, which allows it use even less power while maintaining a connection to a smartphone or other device.

The Fitbit One also tracks a user's activity and sleep. It's wireless connectivity also lets users sync their stats. This then gives the user a better insight into their fitness activities while also offering motivation to reach higher goals and objectives. It tracks steps taken, calories burned, stairs climbed, distance traveled, hours slept as well as the quality of a user's sleep.

The Fitbit Zip is an entry-level fitness tracker that offers more basic functionality. It loses the sleep tracking and silent alarm, but retains the ability to track steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned. While the Fitbit One incorporates a built-in rechargeable battery, the Fitbit Zip uses a replaceable battery that lasts up to six-months on a charge.

Both the Fitbit One and the Fitbit Zip arrive in mid-October for $100 and $60 respectively.
