Verizon-branded Galaxy Note II shows up in pictures

updated 01:34 pm EDT, Sun September 16, 2012

Verizon version sports carrier branding on home button

Images have emerged that appear to confirm reports that Samsung's Galaxy Note II will be coming to Verizon, the United States' largest wireless carrier. The images, obtained by Droid Life, show a Verizon-branded version of Samsung's forthcoming phablet. The images are notable in that, apparently, the Verizon model will feature significant carrier branding, possibly extending even to the device's home button.

The Note II pictured sports Verizon branding on the rear of the case, and it will apparently run on Verizon's 4G LTE network. Images of the front of the new Note also show Verizon branding taking up most of the home button at the device's base. It is uncertain whether this branding is indeed a part of the home button, and thus unremovable, or whether it is part of a protective laminate that one peels off before using the device.

Electronista went hands-on with the Note II last week, finding that it contained a number of significant improvements on its predecessor. Aside from Verizon, the Note II is also thought to be coming to AT&T, T-Mobile, Bell Canada, and Sprint. The AT&T model is expected to launch on October 21, though launch dates for other carriers are uncertain.
