Images, specs of Olympus E-PL5, E-PM2 leak ahead of debut

Two Olympus interchangeable lens cameras show with 16-megapixel sensor

Before Olympus could do it, the images and specs of two upcoming interchangeable-lens compact cameras from the company have been leaked online. The E-PL5 and E-PM2 are mirrorless and both will reportedly share the same 16-megapixel micro four thirds sensor as the one found in the OM-D E-M5 camera. Both will also reportedly share the TruePic VI image engine and a touchscreen that will incorporate a touch AF shutter, DigiCam learned.

The cameras will also have 12 digital art filters for giving photos a unique look, with one entirely new filter as well.

As for differences, other than the color and some detail styling changes that include a different lens release button and a larger grip, the E-PM2 has a second, larger knob on top. It indicates more features, though this is not confirmed.

The black E-PL5 will be the more expensive of the two as well, with prices believed to be set at 599 ($780) with a 14-42mm kit lens. The silver E-PM2 may be priced at 399 (about $520) with the same lens.
