Apple aims for transparency of iOS 6 capabilities around the globe

In order to limit customer confusion or misunderstanding, Apple has posted a list detailing the international regional availability of certain features of iOS 6. Certain functions like Siri, the new Maps app with 3D Flyovers and turn-by-turn navigation are not available in all locations where the new iPhone 5 will be sold. With Apple dropping Google Maps, it has had to sign numerous international agreements with map suppliers, where available, in order to gradually add 3D and navigational functions, in particular.

The most exclusive of the features, which is reserved for the U.S. market only is the 3D Buildings capability. Most of the countries Apple supplies iPhones to will have high-level Maps support along with Satellite imagery. However, the lists start to grow thinner when it comes to being offered directions and thinner again when it comes to turn-by-turn navigation or traffic information.

Siri support for international destinations is slowly growing for functions including restaurant reviews and reservations, movie information and reviews as well as local search. Siri Twitter integration and Facebook integration is also limited, with only 14 countries being able to use the new capabilities. Dictation support has now been extended to 15 countries.
