Developers invited to submit iOS 6 apps to App Store
Apple is now seeding a gold master of iOS 6 to developers. A gold master represents the final version of a piece of software, in this case the firmware that will ship on upcoming deliveries of the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Members of the public who already have compatible iOS devices will be able to get the update through iTunes and iCloud starting September 19th.
Also out for developers is the Xcode 4.5 gold master. The exact contents of the update are undisclosed, but it does include SDKs for the iOS 6 GM and OS X Mountain Lion.
As a result of the two releases, Apple is also inviting developers to start submitting iOS 6-ready apps to the App Store. Some apps have already been updated for compatibility in recent weeks, but since developers only had access to the iOS 6 beta, the software could potentially break.
