Galaxy Note II didn't get 13MP camera due to low supply

LG ordered 13MP camera for Optimus G, kept Samsung from it

Samsung had plans to equip the upcoming Galaxy Note II with a 13-megapixel camera instead of the eight-megapixel unit it will ship with. However, supplier Sony couldn't provide Samsung with the needed sensors because LG had placed an order for the same cameras for its own flagship handset, according to Korea's DDaily. Insiders say LG placed the order with Sony to equip its upcoming Optimus G handset, touted as the most advanced smartphone to date.
The Optimus G is expected to come to market sometime this month. It will be powered

The Optimus G is expected to come to market sometime this month. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and sport 2GB of RAM. The 4.7-inch handset is said to be just 8mm thick and house a 2,100MHz battery. It will have 32GB of onboard storage and a microSD memory card slot won't be integrated. There will also be 4G LTE network support.

Samsung's Galaxy Note II - effectively a large phone or a small tablet with a large, 5.5-inch touchscreen - will instead have to make do with an eight-megapixel camera, the same as the original Note. [via SlashGear]
