New HTC One handset to launch with Android 4.1

Just over a week ahead of the device's suspected unveiling, specs for the HTC One X+ appear to have leaked online, revealing a powerful handset that will debut running the newest version of Google's Android operating system. The specs were revealed in a tweet last week and, if true, claim that the device will feature internals from NVIDIA as well as ample internal storage. In addition to Android 4.1, the One X+ is expected to sport the newest version of HTC's Desire UI.

The One X+ will reportedly measure 5.3 inches by 2.75 inches by 0.36 inches and weigh 4.55oz. Inside, it is said to pack an NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP37 1.6GHz quad-core or 1.7GHz single-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. It would also match its predecessor in terms of battery life, with a 1800mAh battery. HTC is expected to put version 4.5 of its Desire UI atop Android 4.1.

The new handset will be part of an effort to turn around HTC's continuing market share slide, which is said to have negatively affected not only profits but company morale as well. HTC is expected to unveil the new device later this month at a media event in New York City.
