Nvidia K5000 brings Kepler graphic acceleration to Mac Pro

New card boasts 1536 CUDA cores, 4GB GDDR5 VRAM
At the 2012 IBC show, Nvidia unveiled the Quadro K5000 for the Macintosh Pro. The Kepler-based K5000 is currently the most powerful professional class GPU for the Macintosh, providing both faster processing and lower power usage than its predecessor, the Quadro 4000.
The double-width PCI-E 3.0 card can drive up to four displays, two on DVI-DL, and two on Displayport 1.2. Over 2.1 teraflops of computing performance is delivered from 1536 CUDA cores. A 17.3 Gbps data rate with 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM allows 4096 x 2160 resolution with Displaypoet at 50Hz refresh. OpenGL 3.2, DirectX 11, OpenCL, and Nvidia CUDA are all supported by the card.
A 2008 Mac Pro or newer running OS X 10.6.8 or greater is required to use the card. The K5000 will be available late in 2012 for an estimated retail of $2,249.
