HTC Accord to be called Windows Phone 8X

HTC's mid-range 'Accord' Windows Phone 8 handset has had its official specs leak out, as well as press shot of the device thanks to Paul O-Brien. Also confirmed is that the device will be known as the Windows Phone 8X when it goes on sale in October. It will run a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor matched with 1GB of RAM, instead of the previously rumored 1.5 GHz processor.

The 8X will center on a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display with a 720p resolution. As previously thought, the device will incorporate an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with an F/2.0 lens with autofocus and LED flash. The device will also take advantage of Windows Phone 8's support for NFC chips. Storage will be 16GB, while it is also thought to be sport HSPA+ support.

For the first time, HTC will offer integrated Beats Audio support on its Windows Phone line-up. Although it has been struggling in recent times with its Android devices in the face of the onslaught from Samsung, users looking to get a better audio experience from their smartphone value its Beats Audio enhancement. It will remain a point of differentiation for its new Windows Phone 8 line-up moving forward despite the fact that HTC recently sold down its stake in Beats Audio.
