updated 11:40 am EDT, Thu September 6, 2012

Relay 4G will sport a slide-out hardware keyboard, Android 4.0, 1.5GHz chip

A new Android-powered phone from Samsung will arrive at T-Mobile soon, according to the carrier. Dubbed the Galaxy S Relay 4G, it sports a hardware QWERTY keyboard that slides out horizontally. There is also a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen.

The phone will ship with Android 4.0 onboard, and uses a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor. It will get data over T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, with download speeds of up to 42Mbps. It can share that connection with up to five Wi-Fi devices thanks to a mobile hotspot feature and supports Wi-Fi Calling. Samsung's Mobile TV app is preloaded on the handset.

The phone is also SAFE (Samsung Approved for Enterprise)-certified, meaning it is enterprise-ready with 256-bit AES encryption, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support, and VPN abilities.

T-Mobile will only say the device is coming to its stores in the next few weeks, though pricing isn't yet available.
