Monopod from iStabilizer holds phones 3 feet away

The Monopod iPhone and mobile camera extension has been released by iStabilizer. Costing $35, the Monopod is designed to be used for a number of unusual shots where a tripod is unusable or unnecessary, such as filming above a crowd or photographing yourself. The 14-inch lockable telescopic arm can extend to over 3 feet in length, and can hold a number of different smartphones and cameras on its detachable universal mount.

Data Counter monitors network data usage

Data Counter ($1.99, App Store), a new app from eXeltior, has hit iOS. The tool can be used to monitor the amount of data used over both 3G and Wi-Fi connections in real-time, and in turn help prevent users from going over carrier data allowances. Counters showing how much data has been used can be set for defined periods, and the app can automatically display a notification when certain limits set by the user are reached, such as 95-percent of a data allowance.

Air Show shares images from iOS to TV

Splitmo has launched Air Show for iOS (Free, App Store), offering handset-based screen sharing to an Apple TV. Using AirPlay, the app lets users line up the image how they want to see it on the TV through the iPhone or iPad, with changes taking place on the receiving screen within a few seconds. Users without an Apple TV can also use Air Show by connecting the iOS device to the TV with an HDMI cable.
