Galaxy Camera accessory prototypes shown by Samsung

Waterproof housing, wireless charger, ring light shown

Samsung has shown off prototypes of accessories for its freshly revealed, Android-based Galaxy Camera. Although no supporting information was supplied for the items as they were displayed at IFA 2012, it has been reported that they will end up being fairly expensive to buy, considering similar items already on the market.

The six examples on display were a housing for underwater shots, a lens hood, a tripod, a wireless charger, and two lights. One of the lights was a more traditional large flash, while the other was a ring light. The shown wireless charger is said not to work with the current version of the Galaxy Camera, but could work in future versions. It is also noted that the camera itself does not have an expansion port, making some items unlikely to work if the camera is eventually released without one.

The Galaxy Camera, also introduced at IFA, is set to ship in October through camera retailers and other outlets. It has a 4.8-inch HD Clear LCD touchscreen, 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 21x optical zoom, and runs on Android 4.1. [via The Verge]
