Tweetbot for Mac beta goes live, limited to alpha users

Twitter API restrictions keep software locked down
Tweetbot for Mac is now in beta, developer Tapbots has announced. Just earlier this week the company killed the public alpha version of the software, not because of the impending beta, but rather because restrictions in the Twitter API could limit the number of users Tweetbot supports on launch. The beta is in fact restricted to people who've already authorized accounts through the alpha.
Several features have been added with the release, including the ability to copy tweets in the timeline, or open content in a new column. Context click is available for tweet action buttons, and support for multi-column swiping and keyboards has been improved. Drag-and-drop of tweets has been enhanced, and in profiles users can now scroll through information to see more of a person's post history.
A variety of bugfixes have also been made. Gap loading should work properly for instance, and images can once again be pasted into the new tweet window.
