Carrier continues to try for 120 city LTE target

Sprint has expanded its 4G LTE service into four more markets and boosted its 3G efforts in three. Users in Baltimore, Md., Gainesville, Ga,. Manhattan/Junction City, Kan., and Sedalia, Mo. will be able to take advantage of the high-speed service from this week onwards, as Sprint moves towards its goal of putting LTE into 120 cities by the end of the year.

As well as the LTE expansion, inhabitants of Baltimore, Boston, and Washington, D.C. will gain access to Sprint's "all-new 3G service", which promises a clearer signal, better in-building coverage and fewer dropped calls.

Sherman-Dennison, Texas is expected to see 4G LTE service in a few weeks time, as the carrier continues to reach its self-imposed LTE target. It hopes to cover over 260 areas and 250 million people by the end of 2013 with the service, a number of which will be able to have higher quality calls through HD Voice when it is launched before the end of this year.
