Adobe pushes Illustrator updates to Creative Cloud users

updated 11:12 pm EDT, Tue August 28, 2012

Subscribers get early hands on CS7 tech

Some early Illustrator CS7 features are being pushed out to CS6 users who subscribe to Creative Cloud, Adobe has announced. The main addition is the concept of a Package File, which lets designers gather all of the files needed for a given project into a single folder. Users can now also quickly unembed images, and more easily access and track info on artwork through the Links panel.

Adobe has meanwhile announced that next month it will be launching the Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition for companies publishing to the iPad, and bringing some Dreamweaver CS7 features to CS6; the latter is, again, a perk only available to Creative Cloud subscribers. The service typically costs $50 per month under an annual subscription, or $75 per month without an agreement. Owners of any CS product from CS3 on up, however, can pay $30 per month for the the first year of a subscription.
