Nano USB adapter offers portable wireless N connectivity


Cirago has launched iAlertTag, a Bluetooth 4.0 device that can wirelessly secure, alert, and locate an iPhone. The iAlertTag creates a wireless link with an iOS device, and alerts users by vibrating and playing a tone when the two devices are separated. Support is limited to the iPhone 4S and third generation iPad, and requires users to download a free companion app from the App Store. In addition, the tag can also link to any PC with a Cirago BTA8000 Bluetooth adapter and automatically lock the computer after a user walks away. The iAT1000 is currently available for purchase online at a cost of $50.

TP-LINK releases portable wireless N adapter

A new wireless USB adapter that offers speeds of up to 150Mbps has been released by TP-LINK. The Wireless N Nano USB Adapter is a small device that can be plugged into a USB port without blocking any adjacent ports. Features include advanced security options, such as WPA, WPA2, and WEP, as well as support for software based WPS, and both ad-hoc and infrastructure modes. In addition a SoftAP Mode is included, allowing users to turn any wired connection into a a Wi-Fi hotspot.
