Radio Shack's No Contract rate plans leak

updated 05:19 pm EDT, Mon August 27, 2012

$60 gets unlimited calling, text, 2.5GB data, tethering

Seemingly confirming prior rumors that the electronics retailer was preparing to launch pre-paid wireless plans, a document has leaked that appears to show the pricing scheme for the new plans. An anonymous source provided Engadget with what appear to be internal documents showing that the as-yet-unannounced service will support both featurephones and smartphones.

For smartphones, the new service will have two pricing options. The first, priced at $50, will give users unlimited talk minutes and texting, 1GB 3G data, and access to Muve Music. For $60 per month customers will get unlimited voice and messaging, 2.5GB 3G data, and visual voicemail.

Featurephone users will have the option of paying either $25 for 300 anytime minutes or $35 for 1,000 anytime minutes. Both featurephone options come with voicemail, unlimited text, and unlimited 1x mobile web.

The retailer has not yet confirmed that it is rolling out a prepaid service, but this and other leaks appear to make it a near-certainty that RadioShack will do so in the coming weeks. Observers believe the service will launch on September 5, with the HTC One V as one of the flagship phones.

Greetings. I am unable to delete my posts, and apparently you moderators are on some kind of a strike.

Therefore, I have removed the content of the original post by hand.

I am asking for this post to be deleted, since I don't seem to have the option to do that myself.
