Klipsch refreshes Quintet home theater system

updated 02:33 pm EDT, Thu August 23, 2012

New Quintet line marked by refinement

Klipsch announced today the launch of an upgrade to its Quintet home theater system. The new Quintet 5.1 home theater system is said to have been thoroughly reengineered with an eye toward refining the system's sound delivery capabilities. It features four satellite speakers and a dedicated center channel speaker, all composed of durable materials and integrating the horn-loaded technology typical to Klipsch products.

Each speaker in the Quintet employs a 90-degree by 90-degree Tractrix horn, allowing users to place the speakers to their contentment without sacrificing overall sound clarity. The system also includes a lightweight aluminum tweeter and a new Linear Travel Suspension aimed at improving dynamics while reducing distortion. The set also includes new long-throw injection molded graphite woofers, and its cabinets are made of professional AcoustaComp, a specialized material that reduces standing waves.

The Quintet is available in a satin and brushed black finish. The system is available for preorder on Klipsch's web site and retails for $550.
