Google adds saved search settings to accounts

Google has added a function that saves settings for its search engine. Preferences set for Google Search will be saved to the Google account, which in turn will automatically configure search on other browsers and web-enabled devices using the same account. Separate options for desktop and mobile search will allow for different configurations for each, all of which can be adjusted by selecting the cog symbol at the top of search results pages after logging in.

Four-way video calling added to ooVoo

Video chat service ooVoo has updated its mobile apps to include support for four-way video calling. Updates for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store) apps increase the number of simultaneous video calls its 54 million members can make, with over 240 devices supporting the higher number of streams. Android users will also see a deeper integration into the native address book using the Google Social API, and will have an extra widget showing online friends and missed calls.

Sky Now TV added to Xbox app lineup

Now TV, the online streaming service from UK broadcaster Sky, is heading to the Xbox for UK users. An app will stream content at 720i from the service, with the 15 ($23) Sky Movies Pass for non-Sky subscribers being the main attraction. Sky Go, the streaming and catch-up service from the same broadcaster, has been on the Xbox to its subscribers for a number of months.
