updated 10:25 am EDT, Mon August 13, 2012

NeoGeo X coming on December 6 with prices starting at $200

The NeoGeo X Gold gaming console may have missed its promised spring launch date, but now there is both a new launch date and a price for the retro-themed device. Tommo Inc., the US distributor, and SNK Playmore that will sell it elsewhere in the world revealed the console will ship on December 6, priced at $200. The launch coincides with the original Neogeo AES console's debut.

Included in the bundle will be the Neogeo X Station along with the X Handheld that will have 20 classic Neogeo game titles preloaded on them. That handheld has a 4.3-inch LCD display and allows for adding more titles thanks to a game card slot. It also has its own speakers and a 3.5mm output connection. A joystick is included, which can attach to either the handheld or the larger console. The portable console will be charged when connected to the X Station main unit. That unit gets an HDMI and A/V output for connecting to larger displays.

The included games are 3 Count Bout, League Bowling, Art of Fighting II, Magician Lord, Alpha Mission II, Metal Slug, Baseball Stars II, Mutation Nation, Cyber Lip, NAM 1975, Fatal Fury, Puzzled, Fatal Fury Special, Real Bout - Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters '95, Samurai Shodown II, King of the Monsters, Super Sidekicks, Last Resort, and World Heroes Perfect.
