Fluid dynamics simulator Caedium upgraded to OS X 64-bit

updated 02:38 am EDT, Thu August 9, 2012

Niche scientific software has few competitors

The next release of scientific software developer Symscape's Caedium computational fluid dynamics simulator will be made fully 64-bit compatible for OS X. The update allows large simulations to be run in the software using all available memory under OS X 10.6 and above, as well as some general stability improvements.

The software is one of the few Macintosh-native CFD packages available. Caedium is used for aerodynamic calculations, tank-fill calculations, and other simulations involving liquid or liquid-like substances. The package is available in several editions including Professional, RANS Flow, Panel Flow, Builder, Transient, Exchange, and Viz Export, each tailoring to a slightly different market. No pricing information is available.
