Retina MacBook Pro shipping times drop to 5-7 days

updated 11:09 am EDT, Thu August 2, 2012

Supply catches up to demand

Shipping times for the Retina MacBook Pro have once again shrunk at Apple's online store. Shoppers can now get the notebook in five to seven business days, down from the one to two weeks Apple was recently quoting. Shortly after launch, delivery times grew up to three to four weeks.

The change indicates that Apple's supply of the computer is finally catching up with demand. The Retina Pro has proven unexpectedly popular in spite of its minimum $2,199 pricetag. Yesterday the company added new customization options for the base model of the computer, including processor and SSD upgrades.
