Roku promises to ship Streaming Stick in the coming weeks, names Roku Ready partners

Roku's Streaming Stick is nearing its on-sale date, as its maker has revealed the list of established hardware makers whose products will support the little dongle. Introduced at CES, the small dongle plugs into an HDTV or Blu-ray player's MHL-compliant HDMI port and brings with it web access. It then allows users to access Roku's Internet channels at up to 1080p resolution, along with Amazon Instant Video, and Netflix, all through their standard remote control.

The newly named partners that will either ship products compatible with the Streaming Stick or even bundle it with their products include Element Electronics, GlobalVue International, Haier, Hitachi America, Best Buy's Insignia, Mitsubishi Electric, Onkyo, Integra, OPPO and TMAX Digital (Apex Digital TVs).

Compatible devices will be easily identifiable thanks to a stamped logo.

Pricing for the Streaming Stick remain unknown at this time, but the company promises to ship it in the coming weeks.
