Sony LT30p Android headliner gets early review

Sony LT30p 'Mint' prototype reviewed

Sony's LT30p, codenamed 'Mint' has been leaked in a big way with a leaked prototype of the device getting an early review by Mobile Review. Confirming previous details that have already leaked, the latest Sony flagship Android smartphone incorporates a 13-megapixel main camera, sports a 4.6-inch HD display, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor.

Other key specifications include 1GB of RAM, the inclusion of a microSD card slot, while it is just 0.35-inches thin and weighs under 5 ounces. The reviewed device was running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Sony's light custom skin atop. According to the review, the pre-production device disappoints in the key areas where its specs would seem to place on par with the current Android high-end leading competition.

While the display features a 1280x720 resolution, the reviewer is of the opinion that where the BraviaEngine was not functioning, color reproduction in some images seemed relatively poor. Also questioned was the quality of its photos, an area where the similarly high-megapixel Sony Xperia S also disappointed a number of reviewers. However, it must be remembered that the device is only a prototype and having a full review published at this relatively early juncture, it would seem premature to draw an early conclusions.
