Creator space offers high-end equipment, advice

Google has built a studio dedicated to filming YouTube video. The "creator space" in Google's London offices will be open to YouTube filmmakers in the next few weeks, allowing them to create new works for the streaming service with the space, equipment, and advice from more experienced video professionals and the YouTube Next Lab team.

The space contains two studios, a dedicated "green screen" room, and editing suites. Stages come complete with lighting rigs and other essential equipment for video production, along with a choice of professional video cameras and a range of DSLRs for filming. Lectures and workshops from support staff will also be available, to help those new to filmmaking.

YouTube Next Lab has been working on ways to help vloggers and filmmakers in their craft. Programs such as YouTube NextUp offer funding and mentorships to aspiring stars, while the Creator Playbook gives advice to those looking to work on their own. YouTube has also partnered with established content producers to create premium channels, the latest wave of which includes content from Oscar winner Jean Dujardin and Endemol.
