Ambidextrous gaming mouse uses dual-sensor tracking system

Razer is adding to its already extensive gaming peripheral line, introducing a new mouse and several keyboards. The Ouroboros is a fully customizable, ambidextrous wireless mouse designed to accommodate most hand sizes, while the rebooted BlackWidow 2013 gaming-focused keyboard series adds a new offering and two improved models, including a version with backlit keys.

The palm rest on the Ouroboros can move by up to 0.9 inches, increasing the length of the mouse to accommodate larger hand sizes, and can be tilted for further comfort. Interchangeable side panels can add an extra finger rest to either side, potentially helping those preferring a palm-grip style of mouse control. A dual sensor system uses both a laser and an optical sensor for 8200dpi tracking, while a dedicated DPI clutch trigger alongside the 11 programmable buttons allows for temporary increases or decreased in DPI for slower or faster response times in gaming.

The new version of the BlackWidow series uses mechanical keys with improved anti-ghosting technology, allowing for up to 10 simultaneous key presses. Macros support allows for on-the-fly recording of keypresses, bindable to five dedicated keys. An Ultimate version adds backlighting to the keys, while a Tournament edition does away with the numpad.

The BlackWidow 2013 line will be shipping in August at $140 for the back-lit Ultimate version, $100 for the normal edition, and $80 for the Tournament variant. The Ouroboros mouse will cost around $130 when it comes out in the fourth quarter.
