LTE MediaPad to come with large cloud storage component

A teaser video (shown below) on Huawei's YouTube page has revealed the company's new MediaPad 10 FHD. The 10.1-inch tablet boasts some powerful specs, and will ship with 160GB of cloud storage, as well as a number of other features. The video doesn't give any pricing or availability for the Android 4.0 device, which was initially supposed to launch in the spring of this year.

The MediaPad 10 FHD's 8.8mm, 1.28lb chassis holds a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1920x1200 HD resolution. Inside, the tablet is powered by Huawei's proprietary 1.5GHz K3 quad-core processor, which the company claims is the smallest in the industry. Additionally, the MediaPad 10 FHD has a 16-core GPU, 2GB RAM, an 8MP auto-focus rear camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

The new MediaPad will feature a 150Mbps LTE cellular connection, and its unibody shell is made from aluminum-alloy materials. It will come with Dolby surround audio, an HDMI out, and 160GB of cloud storage for backup and syncing.

Electronista went hands-on with the new MediaPad in late February, finding the K3 chip to be very fast at handling interface transitions and games. Overall, the device looked to be a strong entry in the 10-inch Android 4.0 tablet segment, though much of its appeal would be dependent upon its price tag. We asked whether the tablet would come in under $500 and were given a tentative yes. The video released today reveals no further details on pricing, availability, or a release date.
