Fujitsu shows LTE-capable REGZA Phone T-02D for Japan

updated 04:30 pm EDT, Mon July 23, 2012

Fujitsu T-02D gets OLED touchscreen, 13.1-megapixel cam and Japan-only launch

Fujitsu has just introduced a new handset for the Japanese market, the NEXT-series REGZA Phone T-02D. It gets a 4.3-inch OLED touchscreen with 960x540 resolution that Fujitsu calls new AMOLED Plus. The display works with a sensor that measures the color of ambient light to change its own color as needed.

The other headline-grabbing piece of hardware is a 13.1-megapixel rear camera, with a maximum ISO of 25,600 and Sony's Exmor R sensor. A front camera with a 1.3-megapixel CMOS sensor is also present. The phone will support Xi (An LTE network in Japan) and NOTTV broadcasts. Otherwise, there is a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor onboard, though its maker isn't being specified.

REGZA Link Share lets users wirelessly share local content with compatible REGZA Blu-ray players.

A heavily-modified Android 4.0 operating system is onboard, while a fingerprint sensor secures it. It is powered by an 1,800mAh battery and is IPX5/8 water and IPX5 dust-resistant.

The phone will arrive in NTT DoCoMo stores on July 26 in black, blue, or pink. Pricing isn't yet being revealed.
