TweetDeck 1.5 gets quicker navigation options

updated 01:48 pm EDT, Tue July 17, 2012

Mac update promised 'shortly'

Twitter has released TweetDeck 1.5, an update of its optional desktop client. Web, Windows, Chrome, and Mac versions of the client are available. The new code is meant to speed up navigation, for instance by arranging columns in a single row for quick scrolling using the scrollbar. Clicking a new Columns button displays a full list of open columns, and arrows to either side let users scroll several columns at a time.

Dragging and dropping items in the Columns list rearranges them. Elsewhere, meanwhile, each tweet now has a menu icon with extra options, such as linking or emailing a post, or blocking or following someone.

The web, Chrome, and Windows updates are available immediately. TweetDeck for Mac, however, will only be updated "shortly" via the Mac App Store.
