Apple updates iPhoto, fixes lingering Mobile Me issue

updated 08:22 pm EDT, Thu July 12, 2012

Version 9.3.1 fixes bug in Gallery downloads

Users who downloaded their photos from Apple's now-closed MobileMe Gallery may have run into a modest bug that has now been corrected with the release of version 9.3.1, an update available from Software Update or from Apple's support webpage. The minor update, issued earlier today, fixes a problem during the migration of albums from the Gallery that caused some photos to be moved from their original events into a new event called "From MobileMe."

The update also fixes an issue that Apple says could "in rare cases could cause iPhoto to hang while upgrading libraries." The download is 600MB in size and requires OS X 10.7.4. The previous version, 9.3, modified the iPhoto library so that it could be shared with Aperture 3.3 or later and vice-versa. It also added improved AVCHD video support, preserved keywords and titles when exporting photos, and offered an improved Export option that let users automatically organize events into subfolders for better compatibility with non-Mac or non-iPhoto programs.
