C Spire rolls out no-contract mobile data plans

updated 01:52 pm EDT, Thu July 12, 2012

Plans cover hotspots, tablets, USB modems

Regional operator C Spire has announced the rollout of its new no-contract mobile data plans. The plans are available for data-only devices like tablets, mobile hotspots, and USB modems. The new no-contract options also give customers the choice to switch between contract and prepaid rates depending on their expected data usage.

C Spire's no-contract options will provide data access for a week, two weeks, or 30 days. The week-long contract costs $15 and has a 100MB limit, while the two-week pass costs $30 with a 300MB limit. For $50, customers can get a 30-day pass with a 1GB data limit.

Customers also have the option to pay a $5 per month fee for a service that allows them to move back and forth between no-contract and postpaid plans, depending on their expected data consumption.

C Spire customers can find coverage across most of the United States, though the carrier is based in Ridgeland, MS. In March, the company announced that its LTE network would be rolling out across its home region in September.

At these prices, they can shove their plans where it doesn't shine.
