Foxconn prepares to release Nano PC range later this year

Fanless design requires 24 watts of power under load

Foxconn is gearing up to release an extension to its barebones Nano PC range worldwide later this year. The AT-5250 and AT-5600 are powered by Intel Atom and AMD Brazos processors, respectively, and passively cooled with a fanless design, with a housing that is said to be up to 40 times smaller than a standard PC.

The small size is matched by low power use, requiring 15 watts in standby and 24 watts under load. While the Atom-powered AT-5250 is aided by integrated Intel graphics, the AT-5600 has support from an included Radeon HD 6320 GPU. Both will have HDMI and VGA connections, along with two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 connections, gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi, integrated sound and a 5-in-1 card reader. Memory and 2.5-inch or smaller hard drive are to be supplied by the user.

Both Nano PCs will be launched in September for between $260 and $280. [via Hot Hardware]
