Staples reveals Nexus 7 will ship between July 12 and 17

updated 02:40 pm EDT, Fri July 6, 2012

Staples to begin shipping 16GB Nexus 7 starting July 12

Though the Nexus 7 tablet has officially been introduced late last month, Google never committed to a ship date other than July. Now, a Staples product page reveals that the 7-inch tablet will ship no early than July 13 to buyers who pre-order it before July 10. Deliveries will take between 1 to 3 days to complete.

The retailer seems to only be carrying the 16GB version of the tablet, priced at $250. The 8GB, $200 version isn't listed on the office supplier's website.

We hear from a Play Store customer service rep that devices are "at the warehouse getting tagged and ready for shipping." These are earmarked for those who ordered the devices on or before June 29. Google mistakenly put up a pre-order page during the Nexus 7's introduction, with nearly 400 orders taken in just two minutes, which Google honored.

The tablet uses a 7-inch, 1280x800 resolution touchscreen and is powered by a Tegra 3 Kai CPU. Both have NFC support and work with Google Wallet. Google will include a $25 credit preloaded in order to promote the wireless payment service. [via GottaBeMobile]

    headline?

Um, I think you mean Nexus 7, not Galaxy 7. Different company, different product.
