Shuttle reveals two mini-PCs with VESA monitor mounts

updated 11:50 am EDT, Fri June 29, 2012

Fanless, barebones PCs have Intel and AMD graphics options

Shuttle has unveiled two new slim desktops in its extensive XPS range. Measuring less than 10 inches long, just over 6 inches wide, and 1.5 inches in height, the XS35GTA V3 and XS35V3 barebones PCs notably have optional VESA mounting kits for attachment to the back of monitors; this can be used to keep a computer off a desk or the floor.

The fanless designs use pre-installed 2.13GHz dual-core Intel Atom D2700 processors, and a choice of Intel or AMD graphics. The XS35GTA V3 uses an Intel GMA 3650 graphics chip, whereas the XS35V3 uses an AMD Radeon HD 7410M, with both VGA and HDMI outputs. Storage options include space for a single 2.5-inch main drive, and the choice of either a slimline DVD drive or an extra 2.5-inch hard disk. Up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM can be installed. Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet networking is supported, and five USB 2.0 ports are available.

The XS35V3 and XS35GTA V3 are currently on sale in Europe for 170 Euros ($215) and 230 Euros ($300), respectively, before tax. Shuttle has been contacted regarding a US release date.
