Leaked images and initial specs appear to shed more light on not one but two forthcoming handsets from RIM. BlackBerry news site has secured what appears to be an internal document showing off BlackBerry L-Series and N-Series devices. Notably, the document may give a first look at the hardware-keyboard model, promised by RIM execs after news broke that the first handset to feature BlackBerry 10 would be a touchscreen-only device.

Bearing the header "RIM Strictly Confidential," the document shows both the touchscreen-centric L-Series and the shorter N-Series model. Information on the image notes that the N-Series will feature a physical keyboard, OLED display, and a square display with 720x720 resolution. Later iterations of the device may feature an LCD display.

The L-Series is said to feature a 768x1280 touchscreen display, though other specs largely match the feature set already seen in the developer device RIM was showing off in the run-up to this year's BlackBerry World, where the company revealed the BlackBerry 10 OS that is said to power both the L-Series and the N-Series.

The L-Series is expected to be the first device to feature the new operating system when it launches later this year. Some estimates have RIM launching the device as early as the first half of September, though no certain date has been set. The N-Series is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2013.
