Battery booster case doubles capacity, comes in seven colors

Purveyor of iPhone accessories Mophie's Juice Pack Plus is now available at both Apple's online and retail stores. The battery pack adds a 2000 mAh battery in a slim case, adding only one mm of thickness to the iPhone. The add-on battery case solution provides both protection for the iPhone and effectively doubles the device's energy reserves.

The clamshell case has a pass-through USB connector, allowing the user to simultaneously charge and sync the iPhone without having to remove it from the case. The extra power provided by the case can allow up to 8 hours of additional talk time on 3G, 16 hours of talk on 2G, 7 hours of 3G internet use, 11 hours of wifi, 44 hours of audio playback, or 11 hours of video playback.

Electronista has reviewed the Juice Pack Air, a similar product for the fourth-generation iPod Touch. Recently, the Juice Pack Pro, a Mil-Spec tested case was released by the same manufacturer. The Juice Pack Plus also comes in a special outdoor edition with camouflage color scheme and a special GPS application to assist in navigation.

Seven colors are available, with five options now, and two further colors in June. The case retails for $99.
