Includes built-to-order systems
Some online orders of the Retina MacBook Pro are already beginning to arrive, MacNN readers say. This includes built-to-order machines, which normally require extra preparation time. Shipments are in fact arriving early in some circumstances; a number of orders are only officially scheduled for delivery early next week.
Apple launched the computer just this Monday following an announcement at WWDC 2012. The system is Apple's only Mac with Retina technology, but also borrows cues from the MacBook Air, for instance by omitting an optical drive, using an SSD instead of a hard disk, and shrinking in thickness. New US orders are only expected to ship in three to four weeks.
