Paper, Deus Ex: Human Revolution among winners
Apple has announced the winners of the 2012 Apple Design Awards. The event is held every year at WWDC, and recognizes special standouts in iOS and/or Mac apps. In the iPhone category this year's winners were Jetpack Joyride, National Parks by National Geographic, and long-time chart-topper Where's My Water. The iPad winners were the much-hyped drawing app Paper by FiftyThree, along with Bobo Explores Light and DM1 -- The Drum Machine.
Winners on the Mac side include the action-RPG Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the drawing utility Sketch, and the short action-adventure game Limbo. Notably, both Deus Ex and Limbo were ports from games originally designed for consoles and Windows PCs.
As usually the awards included a special Student category. In both cases the winners were iOS titles; the first was a children's book, Little Star, while the other was daWindci, a game in which players control a balloon through the weather.
The winners were each awarded a MacBook Air, an iPad, an iPod touch, and the Apple Design Award cube, as well as an ADA lanyard.
