Rumor: LG Snapshot coming to Sprint in Q4

updated 05:32 pm EDT, Fri June 8, 2012

Entry-level phone likely to be offered off-contract

Images and details of an LG "Snapshot" have emerged online, with some suggesting that Sprint or one of its partners will be offering the phone. The phone is believed to be a budget-level handset, so it may appear on a no-contract basis, though details remain sketchy. The source that leaked the photos tells BriefMobile that the handset is due to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year.

The images popped up this week, showing an LG-branded, touchscreen handset running an unidentified version of Android. Further details on the phone's specifications have emerged since then: the "Snapshot" will reportedly include a single-core 1GHz CPU, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a five-megapixel camera.

The phone is said to be about 8.8mm thick, with a front-facing VGA camera and memory expansion made possible through a microSD slot. The rumored specs for the device omit NFC and 4G LTE connectivity, so it is possible that the device could wind up with Virgin Mobile or Boost Mobile. Some, though, are speculating that the Snapshot will appear on Sprint's network in the fourth quarter of this year.

    Sprint?

To all 14 users in this country who still use Sprint, I am sure this is good news.
