Syncs project data between collaborators
Omni Group has announced the release of the iPad version of OmniPlan, its formerly Mac-only organization software. The app lets people manage projects by breaking them down into tasks and allocating resources. As a project progresses the app can be used to monitor changes, and sync information with other people collaborating on the same work.
The iPad app primarily relies on a Gantt chart view, which shows the durations of tasks and any dependencies or resources linked to them. These tasks can be edited or connected through drag-and-drop commands; the app will warn a person of any potential conflicts, and offer suggestions and solutions where possible. Users can also set targets and constraints.
OmniPlan for iPad costs $50, and requires an iPad running iOS 5 or later. The app is the last major Omni Group title to get an iPad conversion, following in the wake of OmniGraffle, OmniFocus, OmniOutliner, and OmniGraphSketcher.

Too bad
OmniPlan continues to fail to provide a PERT or flowchart type project view like MacProject did and like MS Project does.
