Accessory maker Qnap is showing a prototype of a four-bay Thunderbolt JBOD drive case at Taiwan's Computex trade show. The JTB-400 is capable of holding either 2.5- or 3.5-inch drives. No hardware RAID controller is installed, and the SATA bridgeboard is controlled with a Marvell controller. Pricing has yet to be announced for the rollout of the chassis, expected in the third quarter.
SoundHound app updated to version 5.0
SoundHound, the music discovery app, has been upgraded to version 5.0. The upgrade has a new home screen layout, enhanced album art, faster music recognition, easier Facebook sharing, "sing and hum" search, and free access to Soundhound's karaoke-esque service "LiveLyrics." A free version of SoundHound is available on the iOS App Store and for Android devices on GooglePlay.
Mujjo launches Originals collection for Apple devices
Mujjo, the developer of last winter's touchscreen-compatible gloves, is launching a line of leather and wool cases. The Originals collection is intended for the iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air lines. Two color combinations are available at launch -- the dark grey wool felt with brown leather, and light grey wool with white leather. The cases will be available later this month for €35 ($44) and up.
