HTC intros first dual-SIM handset for Europe, the Desire V

HTC has announced a new smartphone for the European market, the Desire V. According to Unwired View, the phone is based on the entry-level Desire C and is HTC's first European offering with a dual-SIM capability. Ukraine officially received the phone, which sports Android 4.0 overlaid with HTC's Sense 4 skin.

It also has a bigger screen than the Desire C, at 4 inches versus 3.5. The resolution is 800x480, and there is a five-megapixel camera with LED flash out back. There is HSDPA support for one of the SIM cards, and the phone is powered by a 1GHz, single-core Qualcomm processor paired with 512MB of RAM. Users can store content on the internal 4GB of flash memory, which can be expanded with a microSD memory card slot. Buyers will also get 25GB of cloud storage from Dropbox. Beats Audio is onboard as well.

The phone is due to go on sale in the Ukraine in July, priced at the equivalent of about $470. If or when the device will go on sale in other markets remains to be seen.
