Gaming cradle puts iPhone into portrait and landscape oritentation
Ion Audio has released the iCade Mobile controller for iPhone and iPod Touch. Following on from controllers that turn iPhones and iPads into miniature arcade cabinets, the iCade Mobile adds buttons extra buttons to the iPhone, turning it into a traditional handheld gaming device similar to the Sega Game Gear or the PlayStation Vita.
The iPhone fits into a cradle in the center of the controller, which can rotate for both portrait and landscape views depending on the game being played. A four-way d-pad on the left, four front-facing buttons on the right, and four shoulder-mounted buttons allow for gameplay without clogging the view of the screen with fingers to touch virtual buttons. Connection to the iOS device is made by BlueTooth, and it's apparently compatible with hundreds of games in the App Store.
The iCade Mobile is currently shipping at a price of $80, £20 cheaper than the iCade for iPad.

That looks great but...
What about the next iPhone. if its larger than the currently model it is potentially going to be outdated in months. and if it is larger I am not sure I would be as happy with a controller being wider. Its like 4 iPhones too late.
