Tablet P replaces 'the envelope please' at awards

Yesterday's 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas replaced the traditional "red envelope," instead using a Sony Tablet P model to read the names of winners. Because the tablet uses a folding design, it was ideal to recreate the "reveal" moment while giving it a digital update. The awards were hosted by Modern Family's Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, and featured noteworthy tributes to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, the latter of whom died unexpectedly just last week. UK pop star Adele was the biggest winner, collecting 12 of the 46 awards given out. The Sony Tablet P sells for $399 with a two-year AT&T contract.

Lorex Live View baby monitor reviewed

Infant and toddler review site BabyRecs has reviewed the Lorex Live View Video Baby Monitor, a camera and wireless video monitor that allows children to be viewed in their room with color day vision and black-and-white night vision at night. The mountable camera can be augmented with up to three additional cameras, and the monitor features up to seven hours of battery life (in power-save mode) or four hours of continuous video monitoring.

The unit also features a two-way talk intercom and an encrypted wireless signal that is transmitted up to 150 feet away. The monitor has a 2.4" LCD screen with a stand that doubles as a belt clip for carrying. The units comes with the monitor and a single camera, and sells for $170. Additional cameras are $106.

Indeed the envelope is dead!!! I always love the Billboard Awards and seeing the performers use something that cool was an added bonus. I want one now!
