Morning outage hit 12 percent of all iCloud users

updated 04:31 pm EDT, Mon May 14, 2012

Roughly 15 million people affected

A Monday morning iCloud outage affected 12 percent of subscribers, or about 15 million people, according to the service's status page. Between 8 and 9:30 AM Pacific time, iCloud email was inaccessible for the affected group. As of 9:42 AM, all services were listed as online.

The scale of the event is unusual. An incident on May 11th, for instance, affected less than 1 percent of iCloud's total userbase. At last count, the number of iCloud users was estimated to be 125 million people.

    Man...

After their last "1%" outage I gave up and switched to Gmail, it's sad to see nothing has changed since then.
