GoDocs for iOS reaches version 3, offers new features

updated 10:23 pm EDT, Thu May 3, 2012

PDF viewer, multiple accounts now included

GoDocs, an iOS utility for working with Google Docs online, has expanded significantly in new version 3.0, available now on the App Store ($5). The new version adds a pro-level PDF viewer that supports even large PDF documents, PDF links and searching, as well as new folder-level document management and an ability to switch between accounts with a passcode lock. Push notifications for document changes has also now been incorporated.

The program has also added Google Drive support, and overhauled the entire UI as well as updated support for the 2012 iPad's Retina Display. Users can view, edit, create and manage documents of all sorts using a Google Docs account, and the program has a "mobile" and "desktop" view and auto-login for online editing. Folders can now be organized from within the app, including creating new documents and folders, and batch operations (such as batch-delete or batch-download) can be done.

Users can now change the "Writers can invite" option, and version 3.0 offers significantly faster first-time syncronization and better support for large Google Docs accounts. The company recommends that users re-add their Google Docs accounts to the program after updating to the latest version in order to ensure that Push notifications and the synchronization are set up properly.
