Verizon HomeFusion LTE rolls out from pilot scheme

Verizon is making its HomeFusion residential LTE boadband available across the US from May 3. The service has moved from a pilot program to a full product as an alternative to typical cable and DSL connections.

Fixed-location LTE radios installed and connected to Wi-Fi routers are claimed to offer average data rates of 5-12Mbps downstream and 2-5Mbps upstream. Data allowances start at 10GB for $60 per month, 20GB rises to $90 per month, and 30GB hits $120 per month, each with a 50 percent bonus allowance in the first two months and overage charges of $10 per GB.

The Verizon 4G LTE network currently covers 230 markets, including more than two thirds of the US population.
